Easy DIY PooPourri!

Because I have a decent collection of essential oils,  sometimes I realize I can make certain cleaning products at home instead of buying them. I use similar oils in my vinegar based kitchen cleaner, so if you have to purchase oils it might be helpful to buy ones you think you'll use twice!

I'm not a fan of synthetically scented things, perfumes, candles and sprays like febreeze often give me headaches. So when I tried Poo Pourri I was not only impressed with it's natural ingredients but also it's efficacy in our sole bathroom. When I realized I already owned the esential oils in the original citrus scent Poo Pourri, I simply purchased small glass spray bottles and can refill on demand at a fraction of the cost!

Supplies:

4 oz glass spray bottles

Lemon essential oil

Bergamot essential oil

Lemongrass essential oil

1 Tablespoon of rubbing alcohol

Distilled water

Castille Soap

Waterproof labels

Directions:

1. Add 1 Tablespoon of rubbing alcohol to a small spray bottle.

2. Add 5-10 drops of lemon, lemongrass and bergamot essential oils (or substitute for other scent of your choice!)

3. Fill the bottle to the top with water (preferably distilled but I often just use filtered).

4. Mix,  label and spray away!

As always, let me know if you discover better scents or tips! I've heard adding a drop of castille soap such as Dr. Bronner's helps to cover the toilet bowl better but I have yet to try. Hopefully you find something simple that works for you!
